Bankruptcy Fees- How much will it cost to file for bankruptcy?

Bankruptcy fees are an interesting idea. Someone who has no money to pay their debt, no money to pay for credit counseling, will have to some how find money to declare bankruptcy. A little backward isn't it? Unfortunately you can not declare bankruptcy for free. I will break down some of the costs for you:
Credit Counseling- $50-60
Bankruptcy Filing fee- $300
Attorney fee- $500-800
Extra court fees- Varies
Your are looking at anywhere from $850 to $1400 dollars to file for bankruptcy. Seems a bit ridiculous to ask a person in financial distress to pay that kind of money right? Well there is help out there. It's important that you research your options for a bankruptcy lawyer, bankruptcy counseling and bankruptcy fee waivers. Look at as many of these as you can, compare fees, compare what you will get out of each lawyer before you chose which one you will use. It's time to have someone by your side that can help you get out of this hole!
